• Uniforms:

- WCSA furnishes shirts and socks. Shorts are not provided. Players are encouraged to wear soccer cleats, but is not requirement. Please let parents know that baseball cleats ARE NOT ALLOWED due to extra cleat on the big toe.

• Asst. Coach / Game day Coach:

- All coaches are encouraged to find an assistant coach to help with practices and with game day responsibilities.

- In the 4-5 and 6-7 age groups, the game day coach is a must!

- You will be playing 2 games (3 vs. 3 ) and 5 vs. 5 ) at once on adjoining fields, so you will need a game day coach.

• Team parents:

- Most coaches select a team parent who can help the coach with phonecalls, arrange a snack schedule, post season party, etc...

• Snacks:

- The clucb does encourage a light healthy snack at halftime (usually fruit) and then a drink and snack after the game. This is a soccer tradition

• Field Maintenance:

-You will be assigned field(s) to paint at times throught the season. It will be your responsibility to solicit parents or others to paint the field.

-Paint and stripers are in the shed.

• Substitutions:

-Players will be allowed to substitute during throw-ins (for their team only), prior to a corner kick, or after a goal is scored prior to the kick off.

-The substiting player should report to the middle of the field and await the refree's signal to enter.

• Penalty kicks:

-There will be a direct free kick for any infraction that occurs inside the penalty box ; all other players must be behind the person taking the penalty kick.

-For other infractions, there will be a direct or indirect kick from the spot of the foul

• Offsides:

-This will be called in the oldest divisions only (11-13). This is the most confusing call in soccer and the most difficult to understand.

-Offsides calls are left to the discretion of the referee.

-When offsides is called, an indirect kick is awarded from the spot of the infraction.
